5 Songs I’ve Been Listening to on Spotifty

As you already know, Spotify is the favorite and most used application on my phone. The purpose of this segment is to share with you readers five songs I have recently been listening to on Spotify. My hope is that I can share some music with you that you might enjoy and in return you can let me know about some music I might also like. These are the 5 songs I’ve been listening to the most the last week or so.

“Quiet” by This Will Destroy You

Unbeknownst to me the last one of these “Songs from Spotify” I posted included a This Will Destroy You song. I’m still listening to them. Their best song is “Quiet” and they will be playing in Chicago on Monday, July 27th at the Subterranean. I already have tickets and am VERY excited. Most recently, this song was featured in the 30 for 30 on the Fab Five. I’ve embedding the ending that features this song below:

“Breezeblocks” by alt-J

Alt-J_-_An_Awesome_Wave

The video of this song is what got me into the group. I’m disappointed they’re playing Friday at Lolla. I would be much more excited if they were playing Saturday when we have tickets and are planning to see Metallica. Regardless, the video is awesome and brings back Dead Island memories.

“Home” by Aron Wright

Aron Wright

I discovered this song watching another ESPN show, an E:60 on Ernie Johnson. I wish I could link you to the show but for whatever reason ESPN does not have that available. It was an incredible documentary on the life of the man behind TNT’s Inside the NBA. This song shows up at a particularly emotional part of the story and really stuck with me. I’ve listened to much of Aron Wright’s stuff and it is all very good.

“Ori Lost in the Storm (feat. Aeralie Brighton)” by Gareth Coker

ori

The next video game I want to play is Ori and the Blind Forest. A big reason for this is the music and what I heard on the Top Score Podcast. That podcast is one of my favorites. The entire score is great, but this is my favorite song.

“Unsteady” by X Ambassadors

X-Ambassadors-THE-REASON

X Ambassadors have found a permanent place on my most listened to bands the past couple of months. “Unsteady” is my favorite of their songs although their most popular, “Renegades” is also very good.

Let me know in the comments what you’re listening to and if any of these songs are already on your radar!
